Most graduates have been successful in gaining professional recognition, and some have achieved high accolades in the industry’s highest awards, the Arias and MO Awards. The TDP’s commitment to uncompromising high standards means that less than a dozen students are graduated each year in a public performance held at Sydney Entertainment Centre. Prominent Australians make up the TDP board and council – patrons Margaret Whitlam AO, and Kevin Jacobsen OAM; board members Matthew MacDougall (chairman), the Hon John Brown AO, Anne Fitzgerald, Tony Garnett OAM, Michael Jacobsen, Alan Jones AO, Mary Lopez AM, Bill Moss and Chris Ryan; and Friends of the TDP Dawn Fraser AO, MBE, Col Joye AM, Dianne Laurance, Hon Douglas McClelland AC, and John Singleton. The TDP’s Artistic Director, Mary Lopez, devised the training program and constantly updates and oversees it. It is her uncanny ability to recognize and nurture emerging talent that gives TDP its unrivalled reputation. |
