Mary is renowned for her incredible passion and dedication to creating a level playing field for disadvantaged young performers and those not historically mainstream. As a result, financially challenged students, Indigenous youth and those with mental or physical disabilities now have a chance to excel.
For almost 30 years, Mary has worked hard to promote these young Australians through the School Spectaculars, Talent Development Project and other major youth events. Mary succeeds by focusing on their talents rather than their disabilities.
In recognition of this work, Mary received the Variety Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2007.
