Papal Welcome and Celebration – Mary MacKillop

The Papal welcome and celebration was held on Festival of Sydney stage in the Sydney Domain in 1995.

This was a pageant telling the story of Australia’s first saint, Mary MacKillop, and a grand Ecumenical presentation welcoming Pope John Paul II to Australia.

The event featured eminent Australian performers, Tommy Tycho’s orchestra, a massed choir and 1000 actors and dancers from around the country.
